Founding Independent Tabulation, Inc. (Intab) was founded in Seattle, Washington by Everett S. Bosworth in June of 1971. The purpose of the company was to provide an impartial institution to tabulate votes and to establish sound electoral practices for private organizations. Clients included political parties at the state and local levels, labor unions, larger ethnic communities and other groups. 1970's Providing election services remained the focus of Intab throughout the 1970's; beginning in 1977 and through the 1980's the company became committed to direct sales of election supplies to county elections offices in the western states. 1980's In August of 1987 Janet Boudreau assumed ownership and management of Intab, relocating the company to North Carolina the following year. Incorporation of Indendent Tabulation, Inc. was changed from the state of Washington to North Carolina in June of 1989. 1990's From 1990 onward the variety of products quickly grew to meet customer demand, including voting supply and equipment options to accommodate the requirements of all major voting systems as well as general products for use in elections offices, voter registration offices and polling places. 21st Century On June 16th, 2001 Intab celebrated its 30th anniversary serving election officials. Our experience has ranged from providing tabulation services, ballot layout services and software sales for a variety of voting systems, a broad line of election supplies and equipment, and developing many new product designs.
